Fresh Pond Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Fresh Pond golf course first opened for play in 1932. The course was designed by Donald Ross.
The course has well defined hazards, water that comes into play on 4 holes, two Par 5s that will challenge your long ball striking and gentle greens that putt true.
Par for the course is 35. From the back tees the course plays to 2,994 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,633 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 496 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 147 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 163 yard par-3 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 472 yard par-5.

For a public muni course the greens keeper does a fantastic job. The clubhose is small but packed with all sorts of products and the staff is very helpfull

This course is a nine hole gem in the Greater Boston area. Designed by Donald Ross and operating since 1932, it is really well maintained and better than some more expensive courses I have played. It’s also a beautifully scenic course with brilliant sunrises and sunsets, lovely old willow trees and colorful marsh flowers. Not many courses near the city where you might encounter hawks, loons, deer and fox. The staff are great and pros are knowledgeable and you can get good pricing on fitted new clubs, demos and clubs traded in. You will also play with a great cross section of people from retired couples in their 80s, students from nearby universities and couples introducing their kids to the game. Best time to play is early morning or late afternoon. Be prepared to keep up a steady pace of two hours twenty minutes, which is how the staff make this course available to so many players. Have played their for years as I live nearby, and it’s a great course to fit in nine holes and meet interesting people.
